PSORIASIS

assalamualaikum dan salam sejahtera..

today i want to share about one type of skin disease ----> psoriasis

if you are suffering severe dandruff or skin problems agitated. you should read this.
who knows. you are one of psoriasis sufferers.

What is Psoriasis
Psoriasis (sore-EYE-ah-sis) is a medical condition that occurs when skin cells grow too quickly. Faulty signals in the immune system cause new skin cells to form in days rather than weeks. The body does not shed these excess skin cells, so the cells pile up on the surface of the skin and lesions form.

Sign and symptoms
Psoriasis typically looks like red or pink areas of thickened, raised, and dry skin. It classically affects areas over the elbows, knees, and scalp. Essentially any body area may be involved. It tends to be more common in areas of trauma, repeat rubbing, use, or abrasions.
Psoriasis has many different appearances. It may be small flattened bumps, large thick plaques of raised skin, red patches, and pink mildly dry skin to big flakes of dry skin that flake off.

Psoriasis facts
  • Psoriasis is a chronic inflammatory skin disease.
  • Psoriasis has no known cause.
  • The tendency toward developing psoriasis is inherited in genes.
  • Psoriasis is not contagious.
  • Psoriasis gets better and worse spontaneously and can have periodic remissions (clear skin).
  • Psoriasis is controllable with medication.
  • Psoriasis is currently not curable.
  • There are many promising therapies, including newer biologic drugs.
  • Future research for psoriasis is promising.

What causes psoriasis?Psoriasis is not contagious. You cannot get psoriasis from touching someone who has psoriasis, swimming in the same pool, or even intimate contact. Psoriasis is much more complex.
So complex, in fact, scientists are still studying what happens when psoriasis develops. We know that the person’s immune system and genes play key roles. In studying the immune system, scientists discovered that when a person has psoriasis, the T cells (a type of white blood cell that fights unwanted invaders such as bacteria and viruses) mistakenly trigger a reaction in the skin cells. This is why you may hear psoriasis referred to as a “T cell-mediated disease.”
This reaction activates a series of events, causing new skin cells to form in days rather than weeks. The reason T cells trigger this reaction seems to lie in our DNA. People who develop psoriasis inherit genes that cause psoriasis. Unlike some autoimmune conditions, it appears that many genes are involved in psoriasis.
Scientists are still trying to identify all of the genes involved. One of the genes that has been identified is called PSORS1 (SORE-ESS-1). This is one of several genes that regulates how the immune system fights infection.
Scientists also have learned that not everyone who inherits genes for psoriasis gets psoriasis. For psoriasis to appear, it seems that a person must inherit the “right” mix of genes and be exposed to a trigger. Some common triggers are a stressful life event, skin injury, and having strep throat. Many people say that that their psoriasis first appeared after experiencing one of these. Triggers are not universal. What triggers psoriasis in one person may not cause psoriasis to develop in another.

Who gets psoriasis?People worldwide develop psoriasis. In the United States, nearly 7.5 million people have psoriasis and about 150,000 new cases are diagnosed each year. Studies indicate that psoriasis develops about equally in males and females. Research also shows that Caucasians develop psoriasis more frequently than other races. A study conducted in the United States found the prevalence was 2.5% in Caucasians and 1.3% in African Americans.

A family history of psoriasis seems to increase the risk of developing psoriasis. It is important to know that a family history of psoriasis does not guarantee that someone will develop psoriasis.

When do people get psoriasis?Psoriasis can begin at any age, from infancy through the golden years. There are, however, times when psoriasis is most likely to develop. Most people first see psoriasis between 15 and 30 years of age. About 75% develop psoriasis before they turn 40. Another common time for psoriasis to begin is between 50 and 60 years of age.

Does psoriasis affect quality of life? For some people, psoriasis is a nuisance. Others find that psoriasis affects every aspect of their daily life. The unpredictable nature of psoriasis may be the reason. Psoriasis is a chronic (lifelong) medical condition. Some people have frequent flare-ups that occur weekly or monthly. Others have occasional flare-ups.

When psoriasis flares, it can cause severe itching and pain. Sometimes the skin cracks and bleeds. When trying to sleep, cracking and bleeding skin can wake a person frequently and cause sleep deprivation. A lack of sleep can make it difficult to focus at school or work. Sometimes a flare-up requires a visit to a dermatologist for additional treatment. Time must be taken from school or work to visit the doctor and get treatment.

These cycles of flare-ups and remissions often lead to feelings of sadness, despair, guilt and anger as well as low self-esteem. Depression is higher in people who have psoriasis than in the general population. Feelings of embarrassment also are common.

Knowledge is powerAs psoriasis is a life-long condition, it is important to take an active role in managing it. Learning more about psoriasis, seeing a dermatologist to discuss treatment options, and developing a healthy lifestyle can help people live life to the fullest.

pain tolerance

assalamualaikum dan salam sejahtera..
semoga semua dalam keadaan sihat.

da lama aku tidak update blog. entry kali ni simple ja.. maw cerita pasal "SAKIT"
pernah dengar..

tadi masa kat dalam bas on the way balik kolej, aku tetiba teringat kat lecturer aku sorang ni..
dia penah cakap..

"hmm... saya mengajar kat sini senang2 je dapat gelaran "sir" orang kat luar negara plak bersusah payah nak dapat gelaran "sir" ni..."

then kitorang usually ucap "thank you sir" tapi lepas tu kitorang ubah "thank you teacher" lecturer tu terus gelak.

ni sedikit info pasal gelaran "sir"

copy from wikipedia:

Origin

Sir derives from the Middle French honorific title sire (messire gave 'mylord'), from the Old French sieur (itself a contraction of Seigneur meaning 'lord'), from the Latin adjective senior (elder), which yielded titles of respect in many European languages. The form sir is first documented in English in 1297, as title of honor of a knight or baronet, being a variant of sire, which was already used in English since at least c.1205 as a title placed before a name and denoting knighthood, and to address the (male) Sovereign since c.1225, with additional general senses of "father, male parent" is from c.1250 and "important elderly man" from 1362.

Formal styling

In formal protocol Sir is the correct styling for a knight or a baronet (the United Kingdom nobiliary rank just below all peers of the realm), used with (one of) the knight's given name(s) or full name, but not with the surname alone ("Sir James Paul McCartney", "Sir Paul McCartney", or "Sir Paul", but never "Sir McCartney"). The equivalent for a woman is Dame, that is, for one who holds the title in her own right; for such women, the title "Dame" is used as "Sir" for a man, that is, never before the surname on its own. This usage was devised in 1917, derived from the practice, up to the 17th century (and still also in legal proceedings), for the wife of a knight. The wife of a knight or baronet now, however, is styled "Lady [Surname]" (e.g. "Lady McCartney", but never "Lady Linda McCartney," which is reserved for the daughter of a duke, marquess or earl, or now, more recently, for a female member of the Orders of the Garter and the Thistle who possesses no higher title).

ok.. thats all..
wassalam

apa fungsi kawan???

assalamualaikum dan salam sejahtera everyone

something happen last night.. a friend call, dia cakap dia gaduh ngan sorang kawan dia. well, u know when perempuan gaduh.. usually benda kecik pun nak di besarkan... but sometimes budak laki pun ada yang macam ni.. mengalahkan pompuan.. well dats not the point.

kadang-kadang, bila kita ditimpa masalah, confirm time tu otak bercelaru, emosi tak tentu hala.. bila da macam ni, kita akan cari tempat mengadu. kat sape?? -----> KAWAN...

1. tempat pinjam duit sementara tunggu elaun
2. tempat mintak idea camne nak ngurat awek / camne nak pujuk awek merajuk
3. tempat luahan perasaan, duka lara
4. tempat berbincang mengenai apa2 ja benda yang menarik
5. sebagai teman untuk bershopping dan jalan2
6. tempat nak mengumpat
7. polis.. sentiasa ambik tahu tmpat yang kita nak pergi, dengan siapa, kul brapa, brapa lama..
8. doktor.. macam2 petua diberi untuk jaga kesihatan, kecantikan and so on

ada banyak lagi... tapi otak da bercelaru..  sebab tengah fikir pasal praktikal.. huhu.. k la. aku nak bilik kawan.. nak wat perkara no.10.. hehe.. ilove my friend

*suma gambar adalah ihsan google. tq

tu je nak share..
take care everyone.. have a nice weekend

kisah ku dengan promoter

assalamualaikum dan salam sejahtera semua..

sapa pernah terserempak ngan promoter??

ada stu hari tu, aku ngan kawan2 rushing kuar gi klinik.. rushing nak wat ujian darah Hepatitis B, lecturer pun bagi kebenaran setengah hari ja.. so kitorang ni memang kena cepat. takut2 ja lama tunggu turn. masa tu kitorang pakai T-shirt seragam... then, lalu kat dengan The Store, ada promoter .. dia cakap:

promoter laki : "dik, dik.. mari sini.. adik skola lagi kan, kami ada satu barang, bagus untuk budak skola.."
aku dan kawan2 : " takpe bang, kitorang betul2 nak cepat ni" kitorang blah dari situ.. then kawan aku dengar dia cakap...

tu.. kes pertama.. yang ni plak, kes kedua... baru je berlaku tadi.. masa aku kuar ngan kawan, gi The Store lagi, nak beli barang.. rushing sket sebab kena balik hostel before kul 10.. kalau lambat nanti dapat "surat cinta" lagi..

" (aku jalan cepat2.. tak nak layan.. kalau aku layan confirm aku kena tarik oleh kakak promoter tu)
promoter pompuan : "adik baju hijau, jangan la lari, ishh... sombongnya!"

Wassalam.. nite2
